Getting Started

Your Laplet is designed to be robust, child-friendly, and easy to open. Follow the simple steps below to open your Laplet for the first time and power it on. Each step has a clear illustration and short instruction, just like a visual guide children can follow on their own.

Opening the Laplet, Step 1

Step 1

Place the Laplet with the XO icon face up and with the handle facing away from you. Make sure the Laplet is on a flat, stable surface.

Gently lift both “ears” of the Laplet to release the latches. You will feel them click open as the display unlocks from the keyboard.

Step 3

Holding the sides of the display, carefully lift it up from the keyboard along the seam. Open it just like you would open a small laptop.

Step 4

Adjust the angle of the display so that it is comfortable for viewing. The hinge is designed to be sturdy so children can set it to a good viewing position.

Step 5

Press the power button to turn on the Laplet. The XO logo will appear on the screen as the Laplet starts up and prepares the learning environment.

To turn off the Laplet, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds.
