About the initiative

Transforming how children learn across India

OLPC is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming education for children who have had limited access to modern information technology. OLPC India adapts this global movement to the needs of Indian classrooms and communities.

The focus is on designing, manufacturing, and distributing affordable laplets to children in lesser-developed regions, starting with committed state and district programs. Each child owns their device, bringing learning home as well as into the classroom.

The goal is simple yet powerful: every child and teacher has a personal learning device, rich digital content in their language, and the support needed to use it every day.
