Vision: Children in the developing world are inadequately educated
mission
βIt's an education project, not a laptop project.ββ Nicholas Negroponte
Mission Statement: To create educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. When children have access to this type of tool they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.

progress
OLPC India looks forward to making OLPC's XO available to every disadvantaged child across the country. It is an inclusive effort that calls on various agencies of governments, corporations believing in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), foundations, NGOs, social organizations and individuals to contribute in their own ways to help address the pressing need to make India's children learn using the technologies of our times. Helping our children learn with the tools of our times is the most important investment we can make towards a better tomorrow for all and OLPC India calls on every citizen and organization to do their bit to help all our children grow up to be world class citizens.
